  • David Bowie Meets Notorious B.I.G. in 'Biggie Stardust'

Late rock icon David Bowie meets late rap legend Notorious B.I.G. for Terry Urban's latest mash-up. Cleverly titled "Biggie Stardust" -- a salute to Bowie's alter-ego Ziggy Stardust -- the roughly three-minute track blends Bowie's "Moonage Dream" with Biggie's "Dead Wrong."

"A dedication for two artists that have influenced me greatly," writes Urban, the DJ who also spliced together FKA Twigs with B.I.G. cuts for the mash-up album FKA Biggie last year.

The mash-up arrives after Bowie died following an 18-month cancer battle on Sunday at age 69. His vibrant 40-year career made him a pioneer in art rock and dance pop. He earned two No. 1 hit singles in the U.S. with the 1976 smash "Fame" and 1983 jam "Let's Dance." The British rocker released his 25th studio effort Blackstar on Friday, his 69th birthday.

Biggie, the Brooklyn rapper born Christopher Wallace, died March 9, 1997, at 24 years old.
