Diddy and Notorious B.I.G. go way back. The Bad Boy Record founder signed Biggie upon Bad Boy's inception. From there, Biggie was one of Bad Boy's headliner acts. It could be argued that few people took the hip-hop legend's early death tougher than Diddy, and his reverence of his late friend shows in his pickiness regarding tributes to him. Diddy claims that Brand Jordan, among others, came to him with ideas for Biggie tribute sneakers, all of which he's turned down to this point.

"We've been approached by Gucci, we've been approached by Brand Jordan," he said. "Not to reveal any business but, you may see a collaboration in the future -- either with one of those two or with somebody else." In an episode of "Sneaker Shopping" shared by Complex, Diddy said that the styles simply weren't right. He also added that Biggie wasn't much of a shoe person, preferring to spend his money elsewhere.

"I got some first renderings and I was like 'Biggie wouldn't wear this' and you know he'd be yelling at me from the heavens above like 'why you got me with some whack kicks on?'" he said. Diddy's wording didn't slam the door on any future collaborations, but it certainly seems like we aren't going to be seeing any tribute sneakers just yet. With that being said, March 9 of this year marked the 20th anniversary of Biggie's death, so perhaps it could be sooner rather than later.
